Mike Goldsworthy is a photographer based in Victoria, BC, Canada, sharing imagery close to home.

Since arriving BC nearly 40 years ago, Mike has always marveled at it's endless beauty.

Mike’s connection to the outdoors began in Southern Ontario, where summers were spent lifeguarding at the pool and winters skating on frozen outdoor rinks. Time spent camping, hiking, and exploring with friends sparked a lifelong appreciation for nature that eventually led him to study Landscape Architecture at the University of Guelph and move west to Victoria shortly after graduating.

Years later, when his daughters began playing softball and hockey, Mike picked up a camera to capture the moments that passed too quickly on the field and at the rink. Those family keepsakes grew into Captured Sports Photography and a passion for telling stories through images.

After retiring from a 30+year career in landscape architecture, park planning and design, Mike now spends more time outdoors behind the lens.

Living among Garry oak and Douglas-fir trees, he finds daily inspiration in the birds, wildlife, and landscapes close to home.

Today he splits his time between photographing sports and exploring the parks and wild places of Vancouver Island

and mainland BC always searching for those small joyful moments in nature worthy of sharing.
